KOREA ELECTRIC PW CP (NYSE: KEP) BUSINESS SUMMARY

Korea Electric Power Corporation, an integrated electric utility company, engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity; and development of electric power resources in the Republic of Korea. As of December 31, 2008, the company?s transmission system consisted of approximately 29,929 circuit kilometers of lines of 765 kilovolts and others, including high voltage direct current lines, as well as 693 substations with an installed transformer capacity of 237,300 megavolt-amperes; and distribution system included approximately 96,866 megavolt-amperes of transformer capacity and approximately 8 million units of support with a total line length of 410,015 circuit kilometers. It provides electricity primarily to industrial, commercial, residential, educational, and agricultural, and street lighting customers. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
